Moving car catches fire on Mumbais Bandra Worli Sea Link, traffic disrupted temporarily
A car caught fire on Mumbai's Bandra Worli Sea Link, causing a major traffic jam. The Honda sedan, reportedly speeding, collided with a barrier before igniting. Despite the vehicle being completely charred, fortunately, no injuries were reported.
New Delhi: An incident of a moving car catching fire has been reported on Mumbai's Bandra Worli Sea Link on Wednesday night. Fortunately, no one has been injured in the accident. However, the car has completely burned to ashes.
A vehicle of the fire brigade has reached the spot and completely extinguished the fire. Due to the fire in the car, there was a traffic jam on Coastal Road and Sea Link for some time.
How did the car catch fire?
According to reports, the car, a Honda sedan, initially collided with the side barrier at high speed and then caught fire on the road. There are videos of the incident showing the car has been completely charred, and firefighting officials have carried out dousing operations at the site. There have reportedly been no casualties in the incident.

There were reportedly three to four people in the car when the accident took place. The vehicle was reportedly travelling at a considerable speed, due to which it got out of control and collided with the divider. Almost immediately after the impact of the collision, the car twisted sharply and burst into a massive blaze. People commuting on the Sea Link saw the fire and thick smoke.
Many people panicked upon seeing it, and the accident heavily disrupted the traffic. A chaotic scene ensued among the commuters as bystanders watched fire engulf the vehicle. It caused a disruption in the traffic temporarily as police had to divert vehicles to ensure safety. By the time the fire department arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire, the car had been completely charred. According to a preliminary probe, failure of the brake caused the accident.
