NIRF Rankings 2025: Top 100 engineering colleges in India; IIT Madras secures first spot

The education ministry has released the 10th edition of India Rankings. IIT Madras has retained its first place as the best institution in the country for engineering. Explore the top 100 engineering colleges in India.

New Delhi: The Ministry of Education has announced the 10th edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) today, September 4. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has released the India Rankings 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

This year, the India Rankings saw new categories which align with NEP 2020 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ministry has released the NIRF rankings 2025 for all categories, including Medical, Law and Engineering.

In the engineering category, the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) continue to dominate the NIRF rankings 2025.  IIT Madras has retained its first place as the best institution in the country for engineering.
