Akshaye Khannas performance in Dhurandhar impresses Farah Khan, says he deserves an Oscar

Mumbai: Akshaye Khanna's performance in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar created a buzz online, with the internet unable to stop praising him for his phenomenal skill as an actor. Filmmaker Farah Khan even stated that the actor deserves an Oscar for his performance. 

The video shared showed a clip of the actor's scenes from Dhurandhar alongside a scene from Tees Maar Khan, where Akshay Kumar looks at Akshaye and says, "Woh raha mera superstar, mera Oscar.” It was shared with the text, "Everyone after watching Akshaye Khanna as Rehman Dakait in Dhurandhar.”

Farah, who shared the fan edit, wrote online, "Akshaye Khanna truly deserves an Oscar (clapping hands emojis).”

The filmmaker has worked with Akshaye in Tees Maar Khan. Like Farah, fans who went gaga over Akshaye's performance took to social media. Many opined that the actor outshone the entire cast. Some even wondered how the actor did not grow to become a superstar.  

One wrote, "Aditya Dhar made the Indian audience hoot for a Pakistani terrorist, but I can't blame him. No hate to anyone, but Akshaye Khanna literally overshadows everyone in the Legendary cast of #Dhurandhar. The calmest presence, the fiercest performer. " Another commented, "Akshaye Khanna proved that for being a good villain, you don't need alcohol, women or smoke. The AURA he has is goated & unmatched." 

A third person stated, "Akshaye Khanna has no social media presence and gives no interviews. He only shared one Instagram story with the tagline 'Jab movie main hero tha tab koi movie dekhne nahi geya, ab legend legend chilla raha hai'."

Dhurandhar is helmed by Aditya Dhar. It was released on December 5, 2025. Th spy-action thriller featuring Ranveer Singh in the lead, also stars Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt in key roles.

As of today, the movie has grossed over Rs 160 crore worldwide in its opening weekend.
