New Delhi: After the massive success of Gadar and Gadar 2, director Anil Sharma confirmed that Gadar 3 is in the making and the script of the film is ready. The director Anil Sharma revealed to News18 that the story of the film will focus on Tara and Jeete. But will Ameesha Patel be a part of the movie following the fallout with the director? Well, Anil Sharma even answers that!
Meanwhile, during a chat session on X (formerly Twitter), Ameesha admitted to the creative differences and further stated that she would do Gadar 3 only if she is “super excited” about the script. She had also claimed in a podcast with Maniesh Paul that the climax scene of the Gadar 2 was shot without her but she let bygones be bygones.
Speaking with News18, director Anil Sharma confirmed Gadar 3 is in the making and said, “Gadar 3 will definitely get made. We’ve already made a commitment to the audience in the last scene of Gadar 2 where Utkarsh’s (Sharma) character Jeete is told that he’s worthy of joining the army. We ended the film with the message – to be continued.” “
He added, “But making Gadar 3 will take some time but the audience can be assured that it won’t take another 20 years (laughs). We’re hoping to take it to the floors in the next two years. We’ve already worked on the script. It will focus on the stories of Tara and Jeete."
Talking about Ameesha Patel and fallout with her, Anil Sharma shared that his equation with the actress id “great now”. He also added that Sakeena and Traa are an integral part of the film but discussions over her character can only happen just before the release of Gadar 3.
On the other hand, Ameesha earlier revealed that she will do Gadar 3 only if there is “paperwork and contractual documents in place”.
Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was released in 2001 and made a worldwide gross of Rs 111.3 crore. It’s sequel, Gadar 2, was released 22 years later in 2023 and became the fourth highest-grossing film of the year.
