New Delhi: Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur, passed away last month during a polo match in London. Earlier, reports suggested that the 53-year-old businessman had a cardiac arrest after a bee flew into his mouth. Now, British medical authorities have revealed the cause of his death and stated that he died of “natural causes”.
Earlier, the Sona Group’s late chairman’s mother, Rani Kapur, claimed that her son was “murdered” and hinted at a “transnational conspiracy”. She claimed that the death of Sunjay Kapur may not have been accidental or natural, but may involve foul play.
A letter confirming the cause of death of Sunjay Kapur was sent to his wife, Priya Sachdev Kapur, on Sunday (August 5). According to NDTV report, the Surrey Coroner’s Office’s enquiry revealed that the businessman died of “natural causes and identified that “ventricular hypertrophy and ischaemic heart disease” as the causes of death.
For those who are not aware, left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) occurs when the muscular wall of the heart’s left ventricle becomes abnormally thick, making it difficult for the heart to pump blood efficiently, which usually happens due to elevated blood pressure. On the other hand, ischaemic heart disease or coronary artery disease occurs when the hear does not receive sufficient oxygen and blood because arteries become narrower. It can happen when there are fatty deposits, cholesterol or other substances on the arterial walls.
Mother of Sunjay Kapur, Rani Kapur, alleged in a dramatic letter, “There are compelling reasons to believe his death may have been facilitated or orchestrated as part of a coordinated transnational conspiracy, with the involvement of individuals and entities in the United Kingdom, India and maybe the United States.”
The letter further read, “Given the gravity of the matter and possible multiple offences under UK law, including murder, conspiracy to commit a crime, fraud by false representation, forgery... I respectfully request for immediate registration of a formal complaint and initiation of a criminal investigation".
