New Delhi: The legal drama for the late industrialist Sunjay Kapur’s estate is only getting messier with each new development. Recently, Karisma Kapoor’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, sought their share in their late father’s empire and accused stepmother, Priya Sachdev Kapur, of "fabricating” the will, which excludes the children from the property and assets. Now, the sister of Sunjay, Mandhira Kapur Smith, made some shocking claims against Priya.

Sunjay Kapur’s sister, Mandhira Kapur Smith, claimed that her mother, Rani Kapur, was locked in a room by several people, including Priya Sachdev Kapur, and was forced to sign legal papers, and she kept banging on the door, not knowing what was going on. She told CNN News18, "I know the doors were locked. My mother told me. She was in a grieving space. She did not know what was going on. I spoke to her, she told me, ‘I have signed something. I did what I was told. I don’t know what I have signed’. She was very upset. Since then, we have been trying to find out what my mother signed. We are not getting any answers.”
"For me to see how my mother today, everything being stolen from her, is personal. All of us were taught to look after our mother. It was inbuilt in us. It is very personal,” she further added.
She also supported Karisma Kapoor’s children and told ANI, "I’m very happy about it because finally the family will know something and have some knowledge about anything really. I believe in the justice system in India, so I’m hoping it will bring more clarity, more visibility, and transparency to everything."
She added, "I stand by them because I do not think that if anyone knows the relationship they have had with their father and for their father not to have them a part of the will, it just doesn’t add up. Doesn’t make sense. So I stand by them."

Mandhira Kapur Smith is an award-winning entrepreneur and the Managing Director of SMIC Autoparts Private Limited, a company founded in 2012 with headquarters in London. She is the daughter of industrialist Surinder Kapur and Rani Kapur. She is married to Luke Smith and has two children, Nyna and JaiVee. She also has a sister, Superna Motwane, who was estranged from her brother, Sunjay Kapur, for four years due to a "silly sibling squabble”.
