Motive behind Zubeen Garg's murder will shock Assam: CM Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma described Zubeen's death as 'plain and simple murder'. Assam CM made the remarks inside the state Assembly on Tuesday. Addressing the Assembly, CM Sarma said, "One person killed him and others helped him".

SIT will file a "watertight chargesheet and motive behind it, will shock the people, Assam CM said. CM Sarma made the remarks as Oppn moved an adjournment motion to discuss circumstances around Zubeen's death.

Zubeen Garg, renowned for his Bollywood and Assamese songs, passed away on Sept 19 while swimming at an island in Singapore. A video recorded minutes before the tragedy shows Zubeen on a yacht accompanied by Goswami and Mahanta.

Zubeen had travelled to Singapore on his manager's request to perform at the North East India Festival. The event, North East India Festival, was organised by Mahanta and his company.
