Sunny Deol, in his remarkable career, has been a part of several blockbusters. Additionally, the renowned Bollywood actor turned down several movies that later went on to rake in big moolah at the Box Office. Interestingly, some of these opportunities were quickly seized by Shah Rukh Khan.
New Delhi: Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan enjoy unparalleled fandom in Hindi cinema. Both actors not only elevate the entertainment quotient of the silver screen with their powerful performances but also set the cash registers ringing at the ticket counters, leading to exceptional Box Office collections.
While Sunny's last release, Gadar 2, made waves in theaters by attracting huge footfalls, Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki also turned out to be a commercial success. The former's fierce action and the latter's hopeless romanticism have played huge roles in expanding the reach of Indian cinema by winning the hearts of moviegoers across the globe.
Interestingly, when Sunny was at the peak of his career, SRK was trying to establish himself in the industry. During this phase, Sunny rejected several roles that Shah Rukh seized, ultimately helping him emerge as one of Bollywood's leading superstars. But what were those opportunities? With insights from a TV9Hindi report, let's take a look at the roles Sunny rejected that King Khan turned into gold!
Baazigar
You will be amazed to know that Sunny Deol was initially offered the lead role in Shah Rukh Khan's Baazigar. However, Sunny was busy working on other projects at that time. Considering his jam-packed schedule, he refused to be a part of the Abbas-Mustan directorial. Later, Shah Rukh took on the role in the crime thriller, and the film became a massive hit, turning SRK into a sensation among fans.
Darr
Both Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan were part of Darr. However, if reports are to be believed, the role played by SRK in the film was first offered to Sunny. Sunny declined the offer and opted for another character instead. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh seized the opportunity, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Koyla
The film Koyla, co-written and produced by Rakesh Roshan, is still considered one of Shah Rukh's most memorable performances. But did you know that the 75-year-old director had initially approached Sunny Deol for the movie? Sunny, however, was not satisfied with the film's storyline and, ultimately, the role went straight to Shah Rukh.
