New Delhi: Kajol and Karan Johar have worked on several exciting silver screen projects. The actress-director duo has blessed Indian cinema with some unforgettable gems that even worked wonders at the Box Office. You will be amazed to know that they share an amazing camaraderie in real life as well. But interestingly, things were not like this when they first met.
A few years back, during an episode of The Kapil Sharma Show season 2, the 50-year-old diva recalled the time she first saw KJo. In fact, she laughed hysterically at the renowned filmmaker upon seeing him.
"Actually, I went to a filmy party which was in a discotheque that had a bar and all that. Mr Johar arrived there in a three piece suit with a tie. I started laughing uncontrollably on seeing the 21-year-old," Kajol said.
Karan intervened by saying, "I was not 21. All the details are wrong." He added that, at that time, he was 17 years old, and she was only 15.
"I wore a three piece suit with a tie, thinking that it was a filmy party, so I had to go all decked up. Her mother Tanuja introduced me to her as Hiroo and Yash Johar's son Karan. Kajol, who was with her friend, looked at me from top to bottom and crackled with laughter. I was like, 'Okay... what can I do?'" Karan further said. This was when Tanuja suggested they dance.
Kajol and Karan went to the floor, where Karan thought he was flaunting his cool dance moves, while Kajol was still chuckling. "I felt so humiliated that I left the party because I had never been more insulted in my life," he recalled. But that was not it!
They met again at a party, which marked the premiere of Henna. "This was the phase when Kajol had a big crush on Akshay Kumar, I remember. Throughout the event, she was looking for Akshay, and I became her support system. Secretly, even I may have been looking for Akshay. Although we didn't find Akshay, we found each other," revealed Karan. And this is how their friendship began.
The heartwarming bond they share in reality is pretty evident in their films as well. It seems like Karan has full faith in Kajol's acting prowess, and she never disappoints. So, let's have a look at some of their best films together.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai: The romantic comedy marked Karan Johar's directorial debut.
