Chhattisgarh: 6 Maoist killed, AK-47, explosives, rifles recovered
At least six Maoists from Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district were killed on Friday. The attack was initiated after an ongoing operation between security forces and armed insurgents, which began deep inside the dense forest area of the Abujhmad region of Chhattisgarh.
Mathura road accident: 6 killed, 30 suffers injuries on Yamuna Expressway
At least 6 people were killed and more than 30 sustained injuries after a road accident took place in Mathura's Yamuna Expressway on Saturday. Police and relief teams immediately rushed to the spot and the injured were admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Drugs, steroids found at Telangana gym
A gym owner in Telangana's Adilabad was arrested after illegal drugs and steroids were recovered from the fitness centre, police said. As per Adilabad Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) L Jeevan Reddy, the searches were conducted on the basis of a tip-off, and to send across a message that strict measures will be imposed on businesses engaging in unlawful activities.
SAD leader Majithia's judicial custody extended till Aug 2
A court in Punjab's Mohali district on Saturday extended the judicial custody of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia, who was arrested in a disproportionate assets case, till August 2.
Majithia was produced before the court in Mohali amid tight security arrangements.The SAD leader was sent to judicial custody earlier on July 6.
Engineer detained over Golden Temple bomb threats
A software engineer was rounded up from Faridabad in connection with the five e-mails sent to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) threatening to blow up the Golden Temple, officials said on Friday.
Odisha government launches 'Shaktishree' for Women's safety on campuses
The Higher Education Department of Odisha has rolled out "Shaktishree", a self-defence empowerment programme for all UG and PG girl students across 16 state universities and 730 institutions. It is aimed at ensuring physical, legal, mental and digital safety. This initiative also seeks to make higher education campuses safer for women.
