The Allahabad High Court on Thursday adjourned till August 20 the hearing on a plea challenging the validity of the Uttar Pradesh Shri Bankey Bihari Ji Temple Trust Ordinance, 2025. The court noted the matter is also pending before the Supreme Court. Petitioners argued no stay order bars proceedings in the High Court.

Three Odisha Police personnel have been suspended for torturing a man in custody. 28-year-old Rabindra Mallik, a resident of Mahipur village in Barachana block of Odisha's Jajpur district, consumed pesticide inside Balichandrapur police station on August 3 after he was allegedly tortured in police custody.

The Odisha Police have arrested three persons, including two minors for allegedly raping a woman in the Angul district of Odisha. At that time, three people came on a tractor and sexually assaulted her.
