Delhi police on Monday had said that no permission was sought for the INDIA bloc's protest march from Parliament to the Election Commission of India.

Income Tax Bill passed in Lok Sabha

The Income-Tax Bill, 2025 seeks to consolidate and amend the law relating to Income Tax Act 1961 while the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2025 will amend the Income-tax Act, 1961 as well as the Finance Act, 2025.

These Bills, introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, were passed without any debate amid vociferous protest by member of Opposition over revision of electoral rolls in Bihar.

After the passage of these bills by voice vote, the Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day.

'Hindustan ki democracy ki haalat dekhiye': Rahul Gandhi attacks EC amid INDIA bloc march

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi  during the protest march on Monday said, "Hindustan ki democracy ki haalat dekhiye (See the condition of India's democracy)!, direecting it to the EC's proposal later to meet a delegation of 30 MPs  to discuss the matter. Three-hundred MPs wanted to meet the Election Commission to present a document, but they were not allowed to. The EC is scared: What if 300 MPs come and their truth is revealed! Delhi.

2 minors drown in quarry pit near Madurai

In a tragic incident, 2 children drown in a quarry pit filled with water on Sunday. The victims were identified as Ashiq Raja (3), son of Sultan Khan from Pandian Kottai, and his cousin Syeda Ali Sahana (9), as per the reports. 

Initial investigations reveal, Raja slipped into the water, to save him Sahana jumped in and the two drowned in the pit. The bodies were subsequently sent for post mortem examination.
