New Delhi: The situation becomes terrible for a perpetrator when an attempted robbery goes haywire. In Ahmedabad, a woman tried to rob a jewellery store in broad daylight but failed and received a brutal thrashing.

The woman tried to rob the jewellery store by throwing chilli powder in the shopkeeper's eyes. But the person was cautious, and he evaded the powder. Then he slapped the woman 17 times in just 15 seconds, and later handed her over to the police.

At around 12:30 pm on November 3, a woman came to a jewellery shop in Ahmedabad's Ranip area and pretended to be a customer. She threw chilli powder in the eyes of the goldsmith as soon as she saw the opportunity. The person evaded her attack and caught her. He slapped the woman 17 times in just 15 seconds and later handed her over to the police.

Meanwhile, two men have been arrested for robbing a woman and chopping off her fingers with a machete in Bengaluru. The incident is said to from September 13 and a video of the same has gone viral on social media. The horrific video shows the accused attacking two women returning home after a local festival, according to multiple reports.

According to police, when the women identified as Usha and Varalakshmi were returning home after attending a Ganesh festival orchestra. The accused, identified as Praveen and Yogananda, approached the women on a motorbike and attempted to snatch their gold chains.

Police said Usha handed over her chain out of fear, but when Varalakshmi resisted, Yogananda attacked her with a machete, severing two of her fingers. The duo then fled the spot with 55 grams of gold jewellery.
