The Karnataka Cabinet has given its approval for the resumption of cricket matches at Bengalurus iconic Chinnaswamy Stadium. This significant decision places the Home Department in charge of granting necessary permissions and supervising the entire process.
The move is a direct response to the recommendations outlined in the Dcunha Report, which focuses on enhancing safety and regulatory measures for large-scale sporting events.
Under the new directives, the Home Department will engage in detailed discussions with the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). Matches will only proceed under specific conditions, with the government mandating that the KSCA strictly adhere to all guidelines issued by the Home Department.
This development is particularly welcome news for Bengaluru's cricket enthusiasts, who have awaited clarity on hosting fixtures at the venue.
