Thiruvananthapuram: A photo of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's coffee mug has gone viral on social media, raising speculations. The photo was taken during an anti-Centre protest on Monday, when Vijayan was drinking water.
As soon as the photo went viral, social media users started asking whether it was a gesture of solidarity for the victim in the sexual harassment case involving MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, who has been arrested in the case.
The words in the cup from which Vijayan was drinking water read, ‘Love you to the moon and back’. The message was inscribed in the cup, which the CM used during the day-long Satyagraha at Martyrs' Column in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday.
Meanwhile, the victim posted an emotional message on social media. The message, which was shared after the arrest of the MLA, was in conversational format with her unborn child. In her message, she used the same words that were inscribed in the cup. Even as there was no connection between the two, several social media users took it as solidarity on the part of the CM for the victim.
In her message, the woman wrote, “Thank you, God, for giving us the courage to validate ourselves despite all the pain, judgment, and betrayal we endured. You saw what was done in the dark. You heard the cries that never reached the world."
"May our angel babies forgive us from heaven, especially for trusting the wrong persons and choosing a man unworthy of being our child's father," she added, while pointing out that the souls of unborn babies must rest in peace and remain away from fear.
"Our little ones, if our tears reach heaven, let them tell you this. Your mother never forgot you. Your existence mattered, your spirit matters. Mothers will carry you in our hearts until we meet again," she further wrote.
