New Delhi: In an extremely pitiful incident, a man in Nagpur had to tie his wife's body to his motorcycle and drive home after the death of his wife in a road accident. Why? Because nobody reportedly came to his help. The accident took place on the Nagpur–Madhya Pradesh highway near Deolapar.
The incident happened on August 10. A video showing the man riding with the body has become viral on social media, prompting widespread support for the man.
Was the police informed about the incident?
Yes, as per reports, the police were indeed informed about the incident. After the accident took place, the Nagpur rural Deolapar police were alerted about it. The incident took place on a forested stretch of the highway. However, when police reached the scene, they reportedly did not find any vehicle or person there.
Later, when the viral video showed the man, Amit Bumra Yadav (36), riding a motorcycle with a body secured to the rear, police tried to stop him near Khumari Toll Naka, but he continued on his way home. Later, the police teams of Nagpur city, rural, and highway joined hands and tracked him to his home.
How did the accident take place?
Amit hails from Lonara near Nagpur, under the Koradi police jurisdiction. He was going to Madhya Pradesh's Lakhnadon with his wife, Gyarshi Yadav (35). The accident took place between 2.30 pm and 3.00 pm when an unidentified vehicle struck their motorcycle near Deolapar. While Amit was injured, Gyarshi was killed on the spot.
