New Delhi: At least six Kanwariyas were killed after the bus they were travelling in collided with a truck in Jharkhand's Deoghar on Tuesday. Over a dozen others were seriously injured and have been admitted to hospital for treatment.
The bus, carrying Kanwariyas, was heading towards the Basukinath Temple in Dumka for jalabhishek after offering prayers at Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar. The accident took place in Jamunia under Mohanpur police station limits, when the bus collided with a truck carrying LPG cylinders.
The collision was so severe that the bus was completely mangled and five Kanwariyas died on the spot. The injured were pulled out of the vehicle by police and locals and sent to hospital. According to preliminary information, all passengers were reportedly from Bettiah and Gaya in Bihar.
