New Delhi: In a shocking and heartbreaking incident in Gujarat's Aravalli district, a 22-year-old migrant woman allegedly took her own life after fighting with her husband over a mobile phone.

The woman, Urmila Khanan Rijan, originally hails from Nepal. She used to reside in Modasa with her husband and child, and they ran a small Chinese food business there.
She wanted a new mobile phone from her husband, a request he refused time and again due to their poor financial condition. The couple fought over the issue, and it enraged Urmila. Following the dispute, she hanged herself at their residence near Bhavanpur, and local people alerted the authorities. The Modasa Police have taken the body into custody for a post-mortem examination and are probing the incident.
Bengaluru student dies by suicide
In other news, a 23-year-old dental student in Bengaluru died by suicide after allegedly being mentally harassed by her college lecturers. Yashaswini B, a third-year student at a private dental college in Bengaluru, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her room.
According to Yashaswini's mother, G Pramila, her lecturers at Oxford Dental College, Bommanahalli, would humiliate her over her complexion and clothing in front of her classmates. The woman was allegedly harassed for arriving a few minutes late to class and was also questioned about her aspiration of becoming a doctor.
