Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury is facing a potential breach of privilege motion in the Rajya Sabha, stemming from two key issues. The first is an alleged security violation after she reportedly brought a dog into the Parliament premises. The second, and more contentious, reason relates to statements she made subsequently, which the Rajya Sabha considers derogatory.

Chowdhury reportedly stated that "the real dogs are sitting inside the Parliament and they are the ones who bite people regularly." This remark has ignited outrage among BJP Members of Parliament, who are demanding strict action against her.

The Rajya Sabha views this statement as highly offensive and is actively considering initiating the privilege motion. The incident has also drawn in Rahul Gandhi, who, in supporting Chowdhury, made remarks about dogs being allowed inside Parliament, further escalating the political controversy between the opposition and the central government.
