The ruling party's frontline leaders also distanced themselves from Partha. A few days ago, a new speculation surfaced about Partha in Behala West. After seven years, Sovan Chatterjee has made a comeback in TMC. Notably, Sovan was once an MLA from Behala East. Now, the MLA there is his wife Ratna Chatterjee, with whom Sovan has a strained relationship. There is a speculation that Sovan would be nominated as a candidate from Behala West in the election in 2026.

Despite his release from jail and his return home, TMC leaders have not expressed any extra excitement about Partha so far. Party leader Kunal Ghosh said yesterday, "It is a matter of law. If a person has applied for bail in the court, and if the court thinks he can get bail, then he will get it as per the law." No other TMC leader has commented on the matter yet.

Partha questions his suspension

Partha questioned his suspension by the TMC in a letter addressed to the party's high command and said, "I have come to know through the media that the party has suspended me. Under which section of the party constitution have I been suspended?" In the letter, Partha has called Abhishek "the new commander" of the party. Moreover, in the letter, which he wrote during his stay in jail, Partha has asked that in many cases, the party stands by the accused leaders, then why didn't it stand by him? According to reports, the letter has already reached TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee's office.
