Ingredients

  • Sugarcane juice: 1 litre
  • Basmati rice: 100 gm or 1/2 cup, soaked for at least 30 minutes
  • Cardamom powder: 1/2 to 1 teaspoon

  • Ghee: 1 teaspoon, for roasting nuts

Cooking method

1. Pour one litre of sugarcane juice into a heavy-bottomed pan and bring it to a gentle boil.

2. Add crushed green cardamoms to enhance the aroma.

3. Mix in one bowl of soaked rice and let it cook on a low flame, stirring occasionally.

4. Once the rice softens and the mixture thickens to a kheer-like consistency, add a handful of chopped dry fruits.

5. Cook for another five minutes and turn off the flame. Let it cool slightly before serving.
