New Delhi: Hartalika Teej 2025 is just around the corner, and it will be observed on August 26. The festival is celebrated mainly in states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh. In Maharashtra, Hartalika Teej is known as Hartalika Tritiya Vrat, which is celebrated similarly to northern India. It is observed by married women for the prosperity, good health, and long life of their husbands and a blissful married life. Unmarried girls also celebrate it for getting a good husband.

On this day, the devotees observe a day-long rigorous fast, prepare makeshift statues of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva and offer prayers to the divine couple. Women break their fast with a light vegetarian dish at the end of the day. To nourish their bodies and fill with energy, women prepare a variety of ethnic delicacies and sweets on this day for themselves, family members and other guests.
