New Delhi: South Africa are in complete control of the second Test match against India as the visitors pushed their lead close to 400 runs in the first session on the fourth day. When Tea was called at the Barsapara cricket stadium on Tuesday, the Proteas were well-placed at 107/3, leading India by massive 395 runs.

With Tony de Zorzi and Tristan Stubbs at the crease for the visitors on scores of 21 and 14 respectively, the result looks in complete control of the Proteas as they are aiming for a series sweep. Meanwhile, Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja got rid of South Africa openers Ryan Rickelton and Aiden Markram in the first session of the day.

Jadeja first broke the 59-run opening stand between Rickelton (35 off 64 balls) and Markram (29 off 84 balls) by dismissing the former. Following up, he then picked the wicket of the dangerous Markram to reduce the visiting side to 74/2.

It was Washington Sundar who then got the wicket of skipper Temba Bavuma as the South Africans were reduced to 77 for 3. But from there, both Zorzi and Stubbs played typical Test match cricket to stich a careful stand of 30 runs. The Proteas started the day at an overnight score of 26 for no loss and added 81 runs in the first session of play.

Earlier on Monday, India were bundled out for a score of 201 runs in 83.5 overs response to South Africa first-innings total of 489.

Brief Scores: South Africa 1st Innings: 489 & 107 for 3 in 40 overs (Ryan Rickelton 35, Aiden Markram 29; Ravindra Jadeja 2/20).
