"The only time you truly fail is when you decide to give up," Kohli wrote on X hours after arriving in Perth, which will host the first of a three-match ODI series at the Optus Stadium. The series will mark the comeback of both Rohit Sharma and Kohli to international cricket for the first time since the 2025 Champions Trophy in February-March.

Meanwhile, Kohli, along with Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and several other members of the Indian cricket team, landed in Perth in the early hours of Thursday to participate in the three-match ODI series.
The squad will be joined by head coach Gautam Gambhir and some other members of the team later on Thursday.
India will face Australia in a three-match ODI series followed by a five-T20I series, starting on October 29.
