Yashasvi Jaiswal discharged from hospital, advised complete rest by doctors

The Indian player was hospitalised from Tuesday evening to Thursday morning before being discharged by the authorities after his condition improved.

New Delhi: Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been discharged from the Aditya Birla hospital in Pune and returned home after being briefly hospitalised for acute gastroenteritis. Doctors have advised the Indian batter to take complete rest and also continue the medicines for a few days as per the prescription, mentions a report in cricket.one, which has quoted a report from Indian Express.

On Tuesday evening, Jaiswal experienced severe stomach pain during a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match between Mumbai and Rajasthan in Pune and after the match culminated, his pain intensified with the southpaw being taken to a nearby hospital. Upon reaching the hospital, he was diagnosed with gastroenteritis and given medicines and IV injections after an ultrasound and CT scan confirmed the same.

The left-handed batter is slated to take bed rest at home and he has ample time for recovery with the next India assignment against New Zealand scheduled to take place in the second week of January.

This development comes as big positive news for Team India after concerns regarding his health rose to a greater extent. The report also mentions that there have been no further complications and his condition is said to be stable.

Meanwhile in the game against Rajasthan, Jaiswal score 15 runs off 16 balls while opening the innings for Mumbai. Mumbai side went on to chase a big target of 217 runs winning the match eventually by three wickets. Veteran batter Ajinkya Rahane played a crucial unbeaten knock of 72 runs, while Sarfaraz Khan smashed a quick 73 off just 22 balls. Despite the victory, Mumbai were later knocked out of the tournament.

 Jaiswal has been in fine form recently as in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored 145 runs in three innings at an impressive strike rate of 168.60, including a century.
