New Delhi: Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior scored as Real Madrid thrashed AS Monaco 6-1 at the Estadio Bernabeu in the Champions League on Tuesday. The Los Blancos moved to the second position in the standings with five victories in seven matches.

The Brazilian international, who was booed by Madrid fans in the recent matches, provided three assists and also scored one goal for his club. Vinicius said after the match that the fans demand a lot of all the players, and he has to be at his best all the time.

"My last year has been difficult; I haven't been able to play the way I want, but it's always important to keep going. I'm human too. I get upset by what people say, but every two or three days, we have the opportunity to prove ourselves," Vinícius told TNT Brasil.

Real Madrid lost against arch-rivals Barcelona in the final of the Spanish Super Cup, which was the last game of head coach Xabi Alonso. They were also knocked out of the Copa del Rey by a second-tier club, Albacete, 3-2.

'I want to stay here for a long time'

The forward was also asked about Alonso's departure, and he said that he had nothing to do with it and also couldn't do anything about it.

"The only thing I can do on the field is go in and give my all. I won't always be at my best technically, but I've always given my all for the team and done everything to make everyone feel comfortable," Vinicius said.

Vinicius also added that he is not worried about his contract extension, despite negotiations having stalled with the club.

"I want to stay here for a long time. There's also a lot of talk about my contract renewal because I have another year left. We're very relaxed about it. I trust the [Real Madrid] president [Florentino Perez], and he trusts me," he added.

Real Madrid will next take on Villarreal in La Liga on Sunday, January 25.
