Battlefield 6 preorders cross ₹304 crore on Steam 60 days before release
Battlefield 6 is off to a flying start with over 6 lakh preorders and ₹304 crore in revenue on Steam ahead of its October 10 launch. According to Alinea Analytics, wishlists have hit 2.7 million after strong beta feedback and a marketing push.
New Delhi: Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be one of the biggest FPS releases of the year if Steam numbers are anything to go by. The game has already clocked over 6.05 lakh (605,000) preorders on the platform, raking in around USD 35 million (about ₹304 crore) in revenue ahead of its October 10 launch. Wishlists have also shot up to a staggering 2.7 million.
These early figures, shared by Alinea Analytics, are a boost for the Battlefield franchise which has been trying to regain its footing after lukewarm responses to Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield 5. Under the leadership of shooter veteran Vince Zampella, the community seems more hopeful this time.
Battlefield 6’s Steam momentum is off the charts
Alinea Analytics data shows the game’s wishlist count exploded in a short span. When Battlefield 6’s page went live on Steam in late July, it took just days to cross the 500,000 wishlist mark. But the real spikes came after two major events:
- The multiplayer trailer dropped on July 31, pushing wishlists from around 754,000 to 1.23 million in a single day.
- The first beta weekend began on August 7, adding over 240,000 wishlists in 24 hours.
Post these events, the game was adding nearly 300,000 wishlists daily until August 11, and unlike many betas where interest drops sharply, Battlefield 6 maintained its momentum.
Zampella factor driving hype
Zampella, who previously led Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare, Titanfall 2 and Apex Legends, is steering his first Battlefield title. His early references to fan-favourite Battlefield 3 and 4 in interviews helped boost player confidence. EA capitalised on this sentiment with a high-impact marketing campaign — from multiple trailer drops to influencer preview events.
The results are already visible. For the week ending August 11, Battlefield 6 was Steam’s second highest-earning game by revenue and third in copies sold, even before release.
Beta performance could seal the deal
The upcoming beta this weekend will be closely watched. If it matches or outperforms the first beta’s engagement levels, Battlefield 6 could be looking at a blockbuster launch.
I tried the beta myself last weekend and honestly, it felt great. The gameplay had that classic Battlefield chaos but with smoother mechanics. If the full game delivers on the same level, it might end up on my personal Game of the Year list.

With FC (formerly FIFA) showing slower revenue growth this year, Battlefield 6’s strong start is something EA would be counting on. The next two months will decide if this early hype converts into sustained player interest after launch.
