New Delhi: Battlefield 6 is official. And it’s bigger, louder, and more chaotic than before. With the launch date set for October 10, 2025, Indian gamers finally have a full picture of what to expect.
From new multiplayer modes to nine massive maps and even a free-to-play Battle Royale mode, there’s a lot going on. But the real action begins this August when Battlefield 6 kicks off its biggest open beta ever.
The open beta begins with early access on August 7, available to those who pre-registered for Battlefield Labs before July 31 or via Twitch creator streams. The first public beta window runs from August 9 to August 11, followed by a second round from August 14 to August 17. Players can preload the beta from August 4 at 8:30 AM IST.
Battlefield 6 will cost INR 4,999 for the Standard Edition and INR 7,499 for the Phantom Edition on PS5 and Xbox. The Phantom Edition includes skins, XP boosts, and early unlocks like the Tombstone Pack, but EA has clarified no special INR 6,800 Standard Edition exists, denying earlier price leaks.
Set in the year 2027, Battlefield 6 returns to a more grounded, modern war setting that feels like a spiritual sequel to Battlefield 3 and 4. It reintroduces the four classic roles: Assault, Recon, Engineer, and Support, but each now features a deeper training system that adds perks the more you contribute to your team.
Weapon access depends on playlist type: in closed playlists, classes have fixed gear, but open playlists offer more freedom.
Battlefield 6 continues the series' signature map destruction, but this time, it’s smarter. Players can break windows, blast walls, or even bring buildings down to eliminate enemy cover or create new flanking routes. Thomas Andersson, creative director, said destruction is now "somewhat predictable" so players can use it tactically in fights.
One of the biggest mechanical changes is the new Kinesthetic Combat System:
All of this makes close-quarter combat feel more responsive and gritty.
Maps range from urban streets to massive mountains, with many split into "Combat Zones" tailored for specific modes. Here are some of the standout maps:
More maps and seasonal drops are expected post-launch.
Players can dive into:
The returning Battlefield Portal is getting an upgrade too, allowing players to design and share custom maps with new tools.
A free-to-play Battle Royale mode titled Lyndon Beach will arrive later. EA hasn’t announced an exact date yet, but it won’t require owning the main game. Early info suggests massive open maps and more destruction than previous attempts.
Byron Beede, SVP & GM of Battlefield, said, “We’re back in our all-out warfare playground, with four world-class teams developing the game as a single squad known as Battlefield Studios.” He added, "We’re thrilled to have shared our first look with you today and can’t wait to see you playing next weekend during the Open Beta."
Vince Zampella, EVP, added, "I've worked on a lot of titles over the years and can confidently say that Battlefield 6 is something special."
The world of Battlefield 6 is gearing up for war, get ready for a chaotic August.
