New Delhi: A major upgrade to Gemini will enable Google TV to be brought to the big screen with powerful new AI-driven features announced by Google in 2026 at CES. The update brings Nano Banana, the Google image editing model, and the Veo video generation model, which enables one to remake the photos or create the visual content directly on their TVs. Google TV Gemini was initially released in September 2025 to replace Google Assistant and has spread to smart TV platforms since then.

Google states that these new features will start to be introduced to some of the TCL smart TVs in the near future and will be made available on other compatible devices. The AI upgrades will be available only in particular regions and languages at first, and only Android TV OS 14 or later will allow using the full Gemini.

Gemini brings richer visual responses to Google TV

Among the major upgrades is a new visually rich response system which is driven by the Gemini 3 Pro model. Gemini is now able to create images, slideshows and interactive visuals on-screen when a user poses a question. It has also added a new service, Deep Dive, where people can dive deeper into complex content without leaving their television interface.

Search, remix and relive photos using voice commands

Gemini now supports searching in the Google Photos library of a user right in Google TV. The voice commands in the natural language provide an opportunity to locate particular individuals, occasions, or events. Photos Remix also allows the assistant to transform memories into photographed slideshows, which means that it is more convenient to enjoy a personal moment using a bigger screen.

Nano Banana and Veo enable AI-powered creativity

Users can edit, reimagine or transform the picture with the help of AI with the introduction of Nano Banana and Veo. It is also possible to create original images or videos on Google TV with the help of these tools and open up the possibilities of creativity without a phone or a computer.

Gemini Google TV is also a new product that brings conversation control to the TV settings. Users are able to use natural speech and say such things as 'The screen is too dim' or 'I cannot hear the dialogue clearly', and Gemini will automatically turn pictures and sound settings on or off depending on what is being played.

These upgrades make Google position Gemini as a more immersive and intelligent assistant, a product that makes Google TV a more interactive, creative and personalised entertainment hub.
