New Delhi: Following the Punch’s exterior and interior reveal just this week, Tata Motors have now given details about the sub-compact SUV’s trim lineup and the features. The 2026 Tata Punch will be coming with 6 trim levels, which are Smart, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished +S.
Previously, Punch was offered in 10 trims: Pure, Pure (O), Adventure, Adventure+, Adventure S, Adventure+ S, Accomplished+, Accomplished+ S, Creative+ and Creative+ S. Tata Motors have simplified the Punch trims with fewer trims, as has been the latest trend from the Indian brand. Smart is now the new base trim with the Creative+ trims being removed.
Even in the base model, the brand is giving six airbags, which across the lineup previously had been of just two airbags. It will also get LED headlamps, remote keyless entry and drive modes (City and Eco). In the top variant, which is Accomplished+, you get LED fog lamps with cornering function, voice-assisted electric sunroof, 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, auto-dimming IRVM and a connected car suite.
In the new Tata Punch, you get a big performance boost with the coming 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which at present is with the Nexon. There are no specific power outputs, and transmission pairing isn’t known; the existing lineup is expected to be carried. This means it will come with the 88hp naturally aspirated petrol engine, coming with both manual and AMT gearboxes and the 73 bhp making a CNG-compatible powertrain.
The Punch will be competing with the likes of Hyundai Exer and Citroen C3, with the upgrades from the current Rs 5.50 lakh and Rs 9.30 lakh. Last year, Tata followed the same mantra of
