New Delhi: Apple’s latest iPhone 17 series is here, but as always, prices vary depending on where you buy it. Some countries are charging way more than others, and for Indian buyers, the difference is quite visible. We looked at the official numbers from Apple’s global listings and compared them with the Indian pricing. The result is a mixed bag; India is on the higher side, but a few markets like Thailand and Vietnam are closer to local pricing.

Apple CEO Tim Cook, during the launch, highlighted the durability of the new iPhone Air, calling it "more durable than any previous iPhone.” At just 5.6mm, the iPhone 17 Air is also the thinnest Apple phone ever, something the company describes as "impossibly thin.” That aside, buyers across regions are eyeing the price tags to see where they can save a few thousands.

iPhone 17 pricing in India vs USA, UAE, Vietnam, and Hong Kong

In India, the base iPhone 17 starts at ₹82,900. Compare that with the USA where it is about ₹70,512 (converted from dollars and pre-tax), which means buyers here pay around ₹12,000 more. Vietnam and Thailand are nearly neck-and-neck with Indian pricing, showing less than 1 percent variation. Hong Kong is another market where the same phone is roughly ₹4,700 cheaper than India.

For the iPhone 17 Air, Indian buyers pay ₹1,19,900, while the US equivalent price comes to around ₹88,162. That’s a gap of nearly 26 percent. UAE pricing is lower by around ₹16,600, while Vietnam sits at about ₹14,300 less than India. Hong Kong and Japan both turn out to be significantly cheaper too.

The Pro models stretch this gap even more. The iPhone 17 Pro, listed at ₹1,34,900 in India, is available for about ₹96,987 in the US. That’s close to a 28 percent difference. Japan and Hong Kong are again noticeably cheaper, saving buyers upwards of ₹27,000. The Pro Max, which tops the line at ₹1,49,900 here, sells for roughly ₹1,05,812 in the US, a massive difference of over ₹44,000.

iPhone 17 Prices in Australia, Canada, and UK

Moving to other big Apple markets, the story continues in the same way. In Australia, the iPhone 17 is priced at A$1,399, which converts to roughly ₹81,500, almost the same as the Indian price. The Air sits at A$1,799 (₹1,04,800), still cheaper by ₹15,000. The Pro and Pro Max, however, are about ₹15,000–₹20,000 cheaper than in India.

In Canada, the base iPhone 17 costs C$1,129, converting to about ₹71,900, nearly ₹11,000 less than India. The iPhone Air is about ₹92,000 there, again cheaper by close to ₹28,000. The Pro and Pro Max follow the same trend, both around ₹30,000–₹35,000 lower than Indian tags.

In the UK, the entry iPhone 17 begins at £799, translating to ₹95,400. Surprisingly, this is more expensive than in India. The Air costs £999 (₹1,19,200), almost the same as India. The Pro and Pro Max are only slightly cheaper in the UK, crossing ₹1.3 lakh and ₹1.4 lakh respectively. So UK buyers are actually paying a premium compared to both Canada and the US.

Where the iPhone 17 is the cheapest

If you are looking for the best deal, the US remains the cheapest for most models in the iPhone 17 series. Canada also offers relatively lower rates compared to India. Hong Kong and Japan show attractive savings too. For buyers in Thailand and Vietnam, the difference is almost negligible. The UK, however, is one of the most expensive markets right now.

So, if you have friends or family flying down from the US, Canada, or Hong Kong, that might be the smartest way to save tens of thousands on the iPhone 17 lineup. Just don’t forget the warranty differences before swiping your card.
