New Delhi: October is always an exciting month for gamers, and this year is no different. Sony has confirmed the PlayStation Plus monthly games and the list includes a mix of horror, humor, and puzzles. From survival battles in dark forests to chaotic goat adventures and mind-bending worlds, there is something for everyone.

All three will be available from October 7 (IST) until November 3 (IST).

Alan Wake 2 brings survival horror back

Alan Wake 2, developed by Remedy Entertainment, arrives as one of the headline games. It is a psychological survival horror with a strong narrative. The story follows two protagonists in a small town tied to a murder investigation. What makes it intense is the way resources are limited and enemies are powerful.

That eerie feeling of being hunted while your flashlight runs out is what Alan Wake 2 seems to bring back again. Fans of Remedy’s Control will find the studio’s familiar storytelling style here.

Goat Simulator 3 goes wild with Pilgor

If you want something lighter, Goat Simulator 3 is part of the package. This open-world sandbox puts you in control of Pilgor the goat, joined by other goats this time. You can run around farms, cities, or pretty much wreck chaos anywhere. The game supports local and online co-op with up to three friends.

There are mini games too, letting you compete in silly challenges. Playing Goat Simulator with friends often turns into laughter-filled sessions. It is one of those titles you don’t play for story but for the sheer randomness of it all.

Cocoon takes puzzle games to another level

Cocoon, created by Geometric Interactive and published by Annapurna Interactive, is a puzzle adventure where you guide a small insect-like creature. What stands out is how each world exists inside an orb that you carry. You have to jump between these orbs, combine them, and solve puzzles.

The game says you’ll "interact with alien environments and biomechanical devices left behind by an ancient civilization.” I find this fascinating because the worlds range from industrial structures to massive organic caverns. It feels like carrying tiny universes on your back and figuring out how they all connect.

Sony has also added something extra for PlayStation Plus Premium members. Midnight Murder Club will be available as a Game Trial from October 7 (IST). You can play for one hour, and if you decide to buy it later, your progress and trophies will carry over. It is a neat way to test the game without rushing.

With three full games and a trial, PlayStation Plus in October has variety on its side. Alan Wake 2 brings chills, Goat Simulator 3 brings laughs, and Cocoon delivers puzzles that make you think. Whether you are into horror stories, chaotic fun, or thoughtful adventures, this month has plenty to dive into.

Separately, Battlefield 6 will be released on October 10. Stay tuned.
