New Delhi: Samsung has announced its new Galaxy Book6 line of laptops at CES 2026, and the company has made a significant move towards AI-driven performance and high-quality design. The new line-up will consist of the Galaxy Book6, Galaxy Book6 Pro, and the flagship Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra, all of which will be positioned as the most advanced laptops ever built by Samsung.
Having a high emphasis on speed, battery life, and on-device AI, Samsung strives to provide powerful machines that are not too thick and bulky. According to the company, the Galaxy Book6 series is designed to suit the needs of professionals, creators, and casual users, who seek high performance but do not need to depend much on cloud computing.
Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, fabricated on the Intel 18A (1.8 nm) process, lie at the very heart of the Galaxy Book6 platform. Samsung boasts of up to 60 per cent higher CPU performance in relation to the last generation with up to 16 performance and efficiency cores. The chips are also designed to incorporate a neural processing unit that can provide up to 50 TOPS, allowing AI applications such as image cleanup, instant translation and intelligent search to be performed directly on the chip.
The Galaxy Book6 Ultra is unique in the sense that it has NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 or RTX 5060 laptop GPUs. This addition is accompanied by increased speed in AI image generation, enhanced video editing, and better gaming performance. According to Samsung, the integration of the latest processors manufactured by Intel and the NVIDIA GPUs can make the Ultra its most powerful laptop to date.
Samsung has redesigned the cooling system throughout the line to deal with the increased power. The Galaxy Book6 Ultra and Pro have enhanced vapour chambers, and the Ultra model has a bigger surface area. The better airflow patterns, larger fins and a double outlet fan assist in enhancing cooling by 35 per cent and maintaining a relatively low noise from the fans.
The other feature of the Galaxy Book6 series is battery life. The Galaxy Book6 Pro and Ultra have up to 30 hours of video playback, approximately five hours longer than the last generation. Galaxy Book6 Ultra can also be charged fast, with a full 63 per cent battery being ready within 30 minutes.
Galaxy Book6 Pro and Ultra have dynamic AMOLED 2X touch screens with a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate. These panels have a maximum of 1,000 nits of HDR brightness and 500 nits of SDR. The Vision Booster by Samsung also decreases the brightness and colours depending on the ambient light, and the anti-reflective coating and Corning Gorilla Glass with DXC decrease glare and lower it by up to 75 per cent.
Although the performance has been upgraded, the laptops have been made slimmer than before. The Galaxy Book6 Ultra is 15.4 mm, whereas the Galaxy Book6 Pro is only 11.9 mm thick with a total size of 16 inches. Samsung has improved audio too, the Ultra model having a six-speaker Dolby Atmos with force-cancelling subwoofers to get deeper bass and defined sound.
Galaxy AI appears important throughout the line. It has such functions as AI Select (text recognition), AI Cut Out (background removal), natural language search, and Note Assist (content summarisation and translation). There is also close integration between the laptops and other Galaxy products, where file sharing, screen mirroring, and multi-device control are possible.
Samsung Knox and Windows 11 Secured-core PC capabilities are used to provide security at the hardware level. Samsung Care+ can be obtained with supplemental coverage. Galaxy Book6, Book6 Pro, and Book6 Ultra will be available in a few markets at the end of January 2026 in grey and silver and an Enterprise Edition in April. Prices are yet to be announced.
