New Delhi: The All India Council for Robotics & Automation (AICRA) is bringing back its flagship global robotics tournament with the TechnoXian World Cup 9.0, scheduled from August 30 to September 2, 2025, at the Noida Indoor Stadium Complex. Organisers expect more than 22,000 participants from over 60 countries, making it one of the largest tech-sports gatherings worldwide.

What sets this edition apart is the sheer scale of youth involvement. Schools, colleges, startups and research clubs will compete across multiple disciplines, from high-speed drone racing to robot football. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the event alongside Union Cabinet Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Rajkumar Sharma, president of AICRA, said, “TechnoXian is not just a championship, it is a movement. With every edition, we are building a culture of innovation where technology and sports merge into a global phenomenon. TechnoXian 9.0 is going to be our biggest celebration yet.”

Competitions across robotics and drones

The lineup includes 15 major challenges that test creativity, teamwork and engineering skills. Highlights include:

* Robo Soccer, a football match played by machines.

* Drone Race and Drone Soccer, both testing aerial robotics.

* Robo Hockey, reimagining a fast-paced sport with autonomous machines.

* AgriBot Challenge, focused on agriculture-based innovations.

Other contests like Maze Solver, Sumo Bot, RC Plane flying and Water Rocket engineering are also part of the tournament.

A dedicated Innovation Showcase will feature more than 150 projects developed by students and startups, ranging from AI-powered healthcare solutions to agriculture-focused robotics. These exhibits are designed to connect young innovators with industry experts and potential investors.

TEDEX 2025 and awards ceremony

Running alongside the tournament is TEDEX 2025, an exhibition focused on education and digital transformation. Visitors can expect live demos in AI, robotics, AR/VR and IoT, as well as global conferences and networking sessions.

The event will conclude with a mega award ceremony to honour winners, innovators and educators. Organisers say the recognition is intended not just to celebrate technical skills but also to encourage leadership, teamwork and creativity among participants.
