China's aviation sector is gearing up for an unprecedented winter-spring 2025 season, marked by a substantial expansion of its global flight network. The country anticipates operating over 21,000 weekly international and regional flights, signifying an increase of more than 11% compared to the 2024 season.
This significant growth includes the introduction of 23 new medium and long-haul international routes established since last year. A particularly notable development is the upcoming Shanghai Pudong to Auckland to Buenos Aires service, scheduled to commence on 4th December.
This route is set to become the worlds longest, further extending Chinas global reach. These strategic additions ensure that China will achieve comprehensive flight coverage across all continents.
The expanded connectivity offers enhanced convenience for international travellers, with a greater variety of direct flight options now available. For instance, direct services from locations such as Brisbane, Australia, to Guangzhou, China, are becoming more prevalent, simplifying travel and providing easier access to multiple destinations within China.
