New Delhi: A video featuring an Indian immigrant and an American garnered massive attention on social media. In the clip, the immigrant, working as a food delivery agent, is heard saying that he hates living in the US.
The clip posted on Instagram showcased an interaction between the Indian immigrant and a content creator. The creator is seen asking the man where he was from. The man responded that he was from India. Further, the creator enquired if he liked being in the US. The Indian man immediately stated that did not feel welcomed in the country. He also explained that the people around were not welcoming of immigrants like him. The upset man expressed his desire to return to India.
However, he stated that his wife and two daughters were not welcoming to return to India. He added that his kids were struggling and requested the creator to remember the family in his prayers.
"I just want to go back. Pray for us," said the man. Meanwhile, the kind content creator consoled the man. The video garnered the kind and thoughtful comments. One wrote, "Indian immigrants are one of the most peaceful and successful community in the world. Most of them are legal immigrants. They want to work and live a good life...," said one. Another wrote, "This is really sad to hear and I know many people that feel like this, but the truth is people will hate what they don’t understand! You have to be strong and remember the main goal that you’re focused on, he will be OK in time! But never look for acceptance in these people because once you do, you have been brought down to that level of unruly approval by race/ ethnicity."
