BMW India give 5 Series LWB a little update; brings panoramic glass roof
BMW have given the 5 Series LWB a minor upgrade with a new illuminated panoramic roof. and have added more driver-assistance features, which include lane-change assist, cross-traffic alerts and more.
New Delhi: BMW have updated the 5 Series Long Wheelbase (LWB) with new features, while the pricing of Rs 73.35 lakh remains unchanged. The 5 Series falls between the 3 Series and the 7 Series in the brand’s saloon range and competes against Mercedes E-Class, Lexus ES and Audi A6 in India. With the upgrade, it now comes with more driver-assistance features and an illuminated panoramic roof.
The long-wheelbase 5 Series gets a Panorama Glassroof Sky Lounge, which features a printed glass pattern along with integrated LED illumination that produces a range of colour effects. The lighting syncs with the car’s ambient settings, adapts to different drive modes, and remains visible even in daylight.
Apart from the visual appeal, the glass roof allows more natural light into the cabin, enhancing the sense of space inside.
BMW 5 Series LWB driving assist
The 5 Series LWB now has Driving Assistant Plus, a suite that includes lane-change assist, cross-traffic alerts, and front and rear collision warnings. It also features Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, which lets the car maintain a preset speed and safe distance from the vehicle ahead, detect stationary traffic, and automatically come to a stop if required. All of this is controlled through buttons on the steering wheel.
The 5 Series LWB is still powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that makes 258hp and 400Nm of torque and is paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system that adds 11hp and 25Nm. The model is offered exclusively in the 530Li M Sport LWB trim and is focused on rear-seat space and comfort.
Earlier, in July 2025, BMW updated the 5 Series LWB by making 19-inch alloy wheels standard, replacing the previous 18-inch units following feedback from customers.
