New Delhi: BMW are all set to bring the M440i xDrive Convertible to the Indian market in 2026, according to media sources. With the Z4 now slowly being phased out and without any successor, the M440i Convertible will be coming to the market in 2026 and is for the drop-top consumers in the country.
The M4440i Convertible is expectedly based on the BMW 4 Series Coupe and hence comes with many similar design elements, except for the folding fabric roof that takes about 18 seconds to open or close at speeds of up to 50 kph. The front comes with slim LED headlights along with a diagonal DRL signature that are around the large kidney grilles, along with big air intakes on either side of the bumpers as well.
On the inside, the M440i Convertible can seat 4 occupants and comes with a very clean dashboard layout. There is a 14.9-inch curved infotainment touchscreen at the centre, and it gets a digital driver’s display and a three-spoke flat-bottomer M-spec steering wheel. Further, there’s a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless charging pad, heads-up display, tyre pressure monitoring system, powered sports seats with memory functions, ambient lighting and the lot.
Under the bonnet, the M440i Convertible comes with ‘B58’ 3.0-litre turbo straight-six like the BMW 340i sedan that makes 374 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels. It has claimed 0-100 kph in 4.9 seconds and is limited to a top speed of 250 kph.
The M440i Convertible is planned to come by mid-2026 in India, and BMW will price it around Rs 1.1 crore and will be rivalling against the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet.
