Citroen adds Aircross X SUV to lineup, with turbo petrol and 360-degree camera

Citroen have added a third car to the X-series with the launch of Aircross X, reshaping their lineup to become cheaper while becoming more premium on the inside and gets feature loaded.

New Delhi: Citroen has brought out a new SUV in India, the Aircross X, coming at a starting price of Rs 8.29 lakh. The French carmaker have been increasing the X-Series lineup with recent launches of both C3X and Basalt X. It comes at a time when the Aircross comes with 5S recently secured a five-star rating in the Bharat NCAP. 

The Aircross X comes at a time when the effort is to give buyers a more practical SUV that gets a premium feel on the inside. By numbers and everything, it has made great progress with segment-focused comfort bits, flexible seating, and some good tech like the 360-degree camera and voice assistant.

Citroen Aircross X pricing

Citroen have started the pricing at Rs 8.29 lakh, which is quite competitive in the range. For optional extra, at Rs 20,000, it gets a dual-tone roof, and the HALO 360-degree pack for Rs 25,000 with a dealer-fitted CNG option is listed as well.

Citroen Aircross X design and interiors

The SUV’s design language carries the Aircross in essence, with the big stance, bold DRLs and a little boxy giving it a good road presence. There’s a new colour available in Deep Forest Green, coming with five more colour options available with dual-tone combinations. 

On the inside, the Citroen comes with both rugged and premium elements, with the cabin now getting leatherette trim, gold interior highlights, bezel-free 10.25-inch infotainment system and a seven-inch digital driver display. On the top variants, it even gets seat ventilation with ambient and footwell lighting, aiming to give a lounge-type feel.

In terms of spacing, the Aircross X has always been known for its practicality and space. It comes with a 511-litre boot (in five-seat configuration). It also gets roof-mounted AC vents at the back and sliding/folding seat options. It has a ground clearance of 200 mm, which is perfect for negotiating bad roads.

It gets the CARA assistant, Citroen’s in-car voice companion, multilingual and are able to handle everything from navigation to safety alerts to even designing daily routes. It comes with HALO 360-degree care with satellite view, proxi-sense entry and push start, cruise control and speed limited and even Auto IRVM and LED projector. 

The engine options are the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated, Puretech 82 manual transmission and 1.2-litre turbo-charged Puretech 110 manual transmission and auto transmission.

The Aircross X gets six airbags, ESP, hill-hold assistance, ABS with EBD, and more than 40 active and passive features throughout the range, in addition to the Bharat NCAP 5-star label. DRLs and LED headlights complete the safety equipment.

Citroen are remapping themselves and re-routing their presence in India, and they may have found a perfect catalyst to surge their demand with the Citroen Aircross X, an SUV, which is well loaded under Rs 15 lakh.
