New Delhi: Ducati has introduced the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak in India. This version is built for riders who want more performance and sportier handling than the standard Multistrada V4. It adds higher-spec parts, improved ergonomics, and a sharper ride feel, making it the most dynamic and focused model in the Multistrada range.
Priced at Rs 36.17 lakh (ex-showroom), the Pikes Peak is about Rs 5.5 lakh costlier than the Multistrada V4 S. However, it offers a sportier setup that brings superbike-like performance while still retaining touring comfort. Its price also puts it close to the Panigale V4 S, Ducati’s full-blown sportbike.
The Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is the most performance-focused version of the Multistrada line-up. It uses the same 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine as the other Multistrada models, producing 170hp at 10,750rpm and 123.8Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. The engine is E20 fuel compliant and features Ducati’s cylinder deactivation system, which turns off the rear cylinders at low speeds to reduce heat and improve efficiency.
This version of the Multistrada comes with a new Race mode that offers sharper throttle response and reduces electronic intervention from rider aids such as traction control and wheelie control. However, Ducati has also fitted a titanium Akrapovic exhaust as standard, which adds to its sporty sound and lighter weight.
Unlike the standard Multistrada V4 that runs a 19-inch front wheel, the Pikes Peak version uses 17-inch forged aluminium wheels at both ends. These are paired with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres,120/70-ZR17 at the front and 190/55-ZR17 at the rear, giving the bike quicker and more precise handling. The single-sided swingarm, unlike the dual setup on the regular V4, enhances the sporty design and makes wheel changes easier. Braking duties are handled by 330mm front discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and a 280mm rear disc.
Ducati has revised the chassis geometry for better cornering and a sportier feel. It has a 25.75 degrees steering head angle, compared to 24.5 degrees on the standard model. The position of riding is also more aggressive along with higher and rear-set foot pegs, narrower handlebars, and a slightly lower stance.
In terms of tech, the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is equipped with the Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) system that processes data with 70 sensors to refine ABS, traction control, and wheelie control. It also features radar-based tech with Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Blind Spot Detection.
