New Delhi: Ford’s Heritage Collection hosts some of the rarest cars ever made by the American carmaker ever. While the lineup isn’t often one to boast about, there are some moments of brilliance from the company, including the original sixth-gen Bronco prototype and the only V10 Mustang and then some are as exquisite as the Ford GT supercars.

For the first time, Ford is offering one of their best-made cars ever to the public. The automaker will send their 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition to auction at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Fall 2025 sale in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The GT Heritage Edition in question is one of only 343 ever made for the 2006 model year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ford’s historic 1-2-3 finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1966. It gets the legendary Gulf livery, applied by hand, including the roundels.

Inside the bonnet, there is the 5.4-litre supercharged V8 found in all stock Ford GT models from the era. The engine produces 550 bhp and 678 of torque with a six-speed manual transmission. The interior gets trimmed in black leather and with retro-inspired accents to complement the outside design. The GT Heritage Edition is a question that was used for marketing and media purposes. So it might be one of the least driven GT specimens ever.

The winning bidder will also get a build book that documents the car’s production history in detail. While it is hard to expect the pricing on such models, previously, these cars in auctions have fallen between the range of $680,000 $1.2 million. Ford GT has been reimagined multiple times, and it is one of the finest track cars ever built in my book, which could still go on the road. There were certain foibles that didn't make it suited for daily driving, of course. Of course it didn't to be, because it wasn't built for city roads.
