Here’s how the new Audi F1 will look and listen on track
Audi have given a glimpse into how their car will sound as well as how the 2026 season might look like during their testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya last Friday.
New Delhi: Audi have just taken its first stroll into Formula One as Audi Revolut F1 Team officially went to the track. At the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya last Friday, in what should have been an under-the-wraps matter of affairs, fans infiltrated the facility and filmed some of the laps, which have since been making rounds on social media.
While the footages offer little insight into the design and performance of the car, it does capture the sounds that Audi might bring to the track.
There have been quite a few different videos making the rounds so far, and while one of them sounds quite good as an F1 engine, the other provides more clarity on how the hybrid powertrain works with the wheels. This season sees the first one where power duties are shared 50:50 between ICE and electric units.
Audi enters the season as one of the four constructors with their own constructed powertrain. Audi will be coming in place of Sauber, which 2025 season, bowed out. This makes Audi the second team, along with Cadillac, to be coming to the grid. For this season, Cadillac are sharing powertrains with Audi.
Driving for Audi will be Nico Hülkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto, and the team’s next action is set to take place at the first private pre-season test, from January 26th to 30th, again in Barcelona. For all constructors, they are jumping into no man’s land with new design and powertrain and the use of sustainable fuel. There is no DRS and instead a new system called the Active Aerodynamics system for wing adjustment. The performance of the cars are completely unknown, and this could be any team’s season.
