Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP returns to India. How’s it different?
Honda have reintroduced the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, and while the power output figures are the same as before, there are a lot of changes underneath the surface.
New Delhi: Honda have launched their flagship litre-class supersport in India, the CBR1000RR-R SP, and it replaces the outgoing version without tweaking in numbers that made 217.5 bhp and had a torque of 113 Nm. There are still a few changes brought by Honda to their 999cc inline-four engine.
These include a lighter crankcase, higher compression ratio, reduced inertial mass for the crankshaft and connecting rods, revised valve timing, new internal and final gear ratios and a new Akrapovic silencer as well. Even the chassis gets updated by miles for 2025, with a new aluminium frame that offers better steering feel and grip on the track.
Suspension components are from Ohlines, with 43 mm USD front forks and a rear monoshock. Both are electronically adjustable through third-gen Ohlins Smart Electronic Control. Braking performance is from new Brembo Stylema R four-piston radial mount brake callipers that grip onto twin 330 mm discs at the front. The rear wheel comes with a single 220 mm disc with hydraulic callipers.
The CBR1000RR-R SP gets a comprehensive tech suite, coming with a five-inch TFT dash, with updated left-hand switchgear. The bike gets a six-axis IMU, enabling access to features like 9-step traction control, wheelie control a Start Mode for race starts, and a three-level quickshifter.
The Fireblade further features include an updated two-motor throttle-by-wire system for smoother operation when acceleration or while engine braking.
