Honda recalls Africa Twin in India over harness issue in steering
Honda are recalling the CRF1100L Africa manufactured between 2019 and 2025 due to continuous steering movement, which might result in the harness wire and company will be making the repairs without charge.
New Delhi: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) have announced a voluntary recall for their CRF1100L Africa Twin adventure bike, in line with global market action. The recall is for bikes made between 2019 and 2025.
The company have said that the continuous steering movement might result in the harness wire on the left-hand switch bending repeatedly. Over time, this can lead to oxidation at the joint terminal, and there could be issues like the horn not working or difficulty in switching the headlight from low beam to high beam.
The replacement of affected parts will be carried out without charges, irrespective of warranty status at Honda’s BigWing Topline dealerships pan-India. The campaign will start in the fourth week of January 2026. To aid customers more, communication will be made through SMS, call or email. Customers can also find out if their motorcycle is due for recall by entering the Vehicle Identification Number on Honda’s Website.
There have been quite a few recalls more recently, with the likes of Honda CB300R being recalled early in 2025 for models between 2018 and 20 due to a suspected issue with the headlights. Suzuki even more recently recalled the Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 due to a faulty rear brake assembly.
The recalls are not just limited to bikes, of course, and with increasing complications in cars, there have been many recalls of cars due to technical faults.
