New Delhi: Mahindra have revealed that they will be debuting the new XEV 9S EV in India on November 27th, 2025. It will come as a seven-seater eSUV built on the INGLO Skateboard platform, which also supports the XEV 9e and BE 6. The XEV 9S will come as an electric SUV, and apart from the seven-seater model’s platform, the brand hasn’t revealed much about it yet.
There are rumours that this might be the production-spec variant of the XUV700 Electric prototype, also termed the XEV 7e. It has been spied a few times being tested, and logically, the theory might be right. If that is the case, the XEV 9S will take many cues from the prototype, including the LED DRLs, blanked-off grille, and dual-pod LED headlights like the XEV 9e.
The interior could be taking the three-screen setup from the XEV 9e as well, and come with the same steering wheel as some spy shots have suggested.
As for the powertrain, not much is known, but with the standards Mahindra has set in their latest EV generations, it could be a big battery pack that gets a claimed range of 500+ km. All of this, of course, will be cleared at the end of November when we finally get the details of the car from the Indian brand.
The year has seen Mahindra heavily update their lineups, with recent updates to the Bolero lineup as well as the XUV 300. The brand in October 2025 ended as the third best-selling car maker of the month, going past Hyundai as well. The brand has been expanding both their ICE and EV lineup and in August introduced four concepts as well, showcasing where the brand is headed.
