New Delhi: Maserati India have launched the MCPura and MCPura Cielo convertible, pricing them at Rs 41.2 crore and Rs 5.12 crore respectively. It is called an evolution from the Maserati MC20 supercar, and it had previously been revealed in July at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and now comes to India, just three months after its global debut.

In many ways, the Indian-spec MCPura and MCPura Cielo are similar, especially in terms of engine specifications and numbers. Both the supercar and coupe are coming with a 630 bhp and 720 Nm, making a  3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine, mid-engined supercars. Maserati have said that the cars will do 0-100 kph in just 2.9 seconds in the coupe. MCPura Cielo is priced around Rs 19 lakhs less than the MC20 Cielo, which has been in the country since May of this year.

In terms of styling, the MCPura comes with a much more aggressive and aero-enhancing design than the MC20, due to the long-standing race firm Dallara who have fine-tuned the aerodynamic efficiency. The Italian brand have noted that there is a vivid colour palette made particularly for the car. The biggest highlight happens to be the AI Aqua Rainbow colour, which changes colour in the sun to produce a rainbow-like effect. The coupe also has a matte finish with the convertible getting a glossy finish.

The biggest highlight in the designing department is the butterfly wing doors, the carbon fibre monocoque chassis and the retractable glass roof in the convertible variant. Maserati have said the kerb weight of the car remains at 1,500 kg for the coupe. The MCPura comes with Alcantara seats with laser-etching that gives a 3D effect along with contrasting interior elements. The MCPura coupe’s details are quite glossy while the Cielo convertible comes with matte detailing.
