New Delhi: Tata Motors have given a glimpse of how the interior of their upcoming Sierra mid-size SUV will look in their recent teaser. The Sierra is set to be launched on November 25th and seems to be filled with tech. The biggest highlight of the Sierra is the dashboard that gets a segment’s first triple screen setup, which comprises a digital driver’s display, an infotainment touchscreen and even a passenger screen-all cleanly arranged adjacent to each other.
It appears that the infotainment and passenger screen can be synced up to display screensavers and videos as well. The Sierra comes with a black-and-beige colour scheme with satin metal inserts peppered all the way in the cabin. Like the Curvv and other newer models, like the Harrier.ev it comes with a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and control panel on the centre console, which largely has capacitive buttons except for the climate switches.
It is likely to get dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate and a 360-degree camera in the top variants. There is also a chunky gear lever with metal trim, and it comes surrounded by piano black plastic surrounding the base. There are also dual-tone beige seats and back window sunshades.
At the back, the Sierra also comes with dual-tone beige seats and sunshades for the windows. Other features that are likely to make an appearance are Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, front and rear parking sensors, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, powered driver’s seat, digital rearview mirror like the Harrier.ev, and electronic parking brake with auto hold.
Tata Motors have also made a brand-new 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that will debut with the entry-level trim of the Sierra. It is a derivative of the 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol and shares the basic structure but doesn’t come with the turbocharger and high-pressure injection system, and instead gets a port fuel injection setup.
It is expected that the 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol will power the higher variants of the Sierra, as well as the Harrier and Safari and will produce 170 bhp and 280 Nm.
