New Delhi: Tesla is set to introduce their charging network in India soon having arrived in the country officially last month. The brand is set to launch their first Tesla Charging Station in India on August 4th, 2025. The new V4 Supercharging stalls (DC Charging) will be located in BKC (Bandra-Kurla Complex) in Mumbai, with many more to start around the country soon.

In the first Tesla Charging Station, there will be four V4 supercharging stalls, equipped with DC fast chargers, along with four destination chargers or AC chargers. The Tesla Supercharging Stalls will have a peak charging speed of 250 kW, starting at Rs 24 per kW, while Destination Chargers (11 kW) will cost Rs 14 per kW. The payment process will be completed through the Tesla app on the user’s smartphone.

This is the first of eight new supercharging sites that Tesla have planned to launch in India. The company has said that their maiden offering for India, the Model Y, can have a range of 267 km in 15 minutes with Tesla Superchargers.

Tesla have said their supercharging network has an uptime of 99.95 per cent, giving a working charger every time there is need to recharge the battery. The charging speed, though, will of course be affected by conditions like state of charge and temperature. The Tesla Model Y will also guide the car to the nearest charger. It will come with a CCS2 charging port that makes it compatible with other fast charging stations as well.

Tesla is close to starting deliveries in India from September, with the American-based EV maker starting bookings in July of this year with their electric SUV. The prices are set to start at Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be prioritising deliveries in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Gurugram and then other parts of the country, although they are accepting bookings pan-India.
