Toyota give a teaser of the Hilux, will debut globally on November 10th
Toyota have shown a glimpse of the upcoming Toyota Hilux, which, along with aesthetic changes, is set to arrive with a few mechanical changes and more feature-loaded.
New Delhi: Toyota have shown a glimpse of the new Hilux in a teaser ahead of its worldwide debut on November 10th. The popular pickup truck is set to get major exterior, interior, powertrain and features. The new Hilux will come with a new redesigned front fascia as well as a revised bumper, much sleeker headlights and daytime running lamp (DRL) signatures, and muscular character lines upon the bonnet.
The biggest change would be that the Toyota logo on the grille will be replaced by Toyota lettering, much like the Land Cruiser FJ.
What will be new in the Toyota Hilux facelift?
It is expected that there will be new designs for the fenders and alloy wheels as well. At the back, the new Hilux gets refreshed LED taillamps and bumper. The doors and glasshouse are going to remain unchanged. Even though there isn’t much given out about the interior, the cabin is likely to get newer screens and better materials as well.
The new Hilux is going to retain the old model’s diesel powertrain, but it will now have a 48V mild-hybrid system consisting of a belt-integrated starter generator, a DC-DC converter and a secondary lithium-ion battery. The setup powers the Fortuner Neo Drive, making about 204 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic 4/4 system.
The new Toyota Hilux is likely to arrive in India later this year or early next year, although nothing is confirmed yet. It could be priced between Rs 27 lakh and Rs 37 lakh. In the current generation on sale, it is priced from Rs 28 lakh to Rs 35 lakh.
