New Delhi: BMW Motorrad’s CEO, Murkus Flasch, has posted a video showing the production-spec of the F 450 GS before the debut at EICMA 2025 tomorrow. After the G 310 GS was discontinued, this forthcoming ADV will be an entry point in the BMW GS family and will be made in India by TVS.

The F 450 GS was first shown at the EICMA 2024, and the production details, along with test mules and patent filings, have revealed a few details. It is clear that the bike will come with a quad-LED DRL setup inspired by the new R 1300 GS, and will come with a single front disc brake and golden-cooloured USD fork.

The bike in the video comes with wire-spoke wheels, although the test mules had shown alloy wheels on previous occasions, and this could mean there will be many variants of this. Both variants are most likely to come with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup.

Previously, BMW had revealed the concept, which was powered by a new 450 cc parallel-twin engine making 48 bhp with a claimed weight of 175 kg. The brand didn’t mention if this number is kerb weight or dry weight, but since the smaller G 310 GS came with 175 kg kerb weight, it is likely that this figure is without the fluids. Of course, the production bike might weigh more than the concept one.

The GS tomorrow could also be coming with a semi-automatic transmission. The system is going to be a cost-effective version of the BMW’s Automated Shift Assistant (like on the R 1300 GS) and should allow for complete automatic shifting in ‘D’ mode or manual control through the conventional gear level in ‘M’ mode.

It is unknown if the BMW will be launched in the F 450 GS here and what type of pricing strategy it will follow. It will be entering a very competitive segment that includes the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Honda NX500 and KTM 390 Adventure.
